Job Description:
As a Designer you will be responsible for creating high quality, cost effective designs that align with the Umgee’s customers demand and image. You are the driving force of product creation and development tasked with creating clothing our customers can wear everyday and for all occasions.
Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and develop seasonal collections aligned with brand identity, customer demand and pricing strategy
• Research and development of fabrications, colors, silhouettes, and market trends
• Create detailed sketches and tech packs with clear construction, measurements and finishing details
• Select fabrics, trims, and colorways within cost parameters and alignment with customer demand.
• Ensure designs meet quality standards, fit requirements and market requirements.
Key Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of professional fashion design experience in a full design role (internships, assistant, and associate-level experience excluded)
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and fabrication
• Demonstrated ability to design within target costs and margin requirements
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (or equivalent design software)
• Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, production, sales, and sourcing teams
• Ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Proven track record of delivering designs that meet quality standards, timelines, and sales objectives
Additional Requirements (Education, Training, and Experience):
• Bachelors Degree is Fashion Design or Apparel Design
• Digital portfolio of designs and sketches

2. Production Manager
Job Description:
As a Production Manager you oversee all matters of product quality, pricing, and production execution. You are an expert in fittings and own the end-to-end production process for all new and reordered styles, ensuring that every garment leaves the factory on time, meets quality standards, and arrives without damage or defect.
Responsibilities:
• Quality Control and Production Standards
o Control standards for all new and reordered styles
o Review all samples against approved design packages and tech packs
o Conduct and oversee final quality inspections or production prior to shipment
o Develop and maintain a quality control framework that includes inspection checklists, defect classification, and vendor accountability
o Ensure all finished goods arrive free of damage; establish and enforce packing, labeling and shipping standards with vendors to protect product integrity
• Pricing, Cost Negotiation and Vendor Management
o Primary point of contact for all price negotiations with overseas manufacturers
o Review costs for new styles; evaluate against target margins and company pricing direction and lead negotiations to achieve required price points
o Develop and maintain strong, productive working relationships with overseas vendors; build trust, ensure clear communication of expectations, and hold vendors accountable to delivery, quality and pricing commitments
• Fit Meetings
o Plan, schedule, and lead fit meetings for all new and revised styles; evaluate samples on fit models or dress forms against approved specs sheets and provide detailed fit corrections
o Collaborate directly with Head Designers and Design team members to align fit, construction, and production feasibility with the vision of each style; communicate clearly when design intent requires adjustment to meet production or cost.
o Advise designers on the best available construction and material options relative to target pricing and brand quality standards; present cost-effective alternatives that preserve design integrity
o Ensure all fit corrections, construction revisions, and spec updates are accurately documented
• Production Scheduling and On-Time Delivery
o Own the production calendar for all active styles, monitor sample approval deadlines, production start dates and delivery windows
o Proactively identify production delays
o Maintain close communication with vendors through the production cycle
Key Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge of garment construction, fabric properties, trim components, fit standards, and quality control methodologies for women’s apparel (specializing in athleisure).
• Strong commercial and financial acumen; able to analyze cost breakdowns, negotiate effectively, and protect brand margins without sacrificing product quality
• Strong attention to detail; able to identify construction flaws, fit issues, and quality defects.
• Strong understanding of brand identity
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High organized with the ability to manage complex multi season timelines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, comfortable with ERP systems and experienced with manager vendor communications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Fashion Design, Supply Chain Management or related fields
• Minimum 5 - 7 years experience in womens apparel production, product development or quality control in a women’s wholesale, contemporary, athleisure environment
• Proven track record of conducting fit meetings and working collaboratively with design teams to resolve construction fit and cost challenges
• Experience managing production timelines, WIP tracking, and on-time delivery performance across multiple styles and seasonal calendars

3. Production Assistant
Job Description:
As a Production Assistant you are excellent with time management and can handle a variety of duties simultaneously. This role works cross-functionally with design and production. You are responsible for having strong organizational and communication skills and following up with all the duties assigned by the design department.
Responsibilities:
• Sample Management
o Coordinate the sample development process, including requesting, receiving, and logging samples
o Track sample status across fittings, revisions, and approvals
o Organize and maintain the sample room or inventory
o Prepare samples for fittings, presentations, or shipment
• Production Tracking
o Track production orders from initial placement through final delivery
o Maintain and update production calendars and timelines
o Monitor each stage of production to ensure deadlines are met
o Flag delays or issues to production managers and relevant teams
• Quality Control Support
o Assist with quality inspections and review of incoming goods
o Document quality issues and help coordinate resolutions
o Ensure products meet brand specifications and standards
• Administrative Support
o Schedule and prepare for fit sessions and production meetings
o Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
o Handle general administrative tasks supporting the production team
Key Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of clothing terminology and a garment construction
• Familiar with production timelines and quality control processes
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Able to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
